Arsenal! On their way to the ‘trenches’?

Is Michael Arteta and his boys on their way to another battle for results?

Shortly after missing out on 22yrs old Serbian Seria A goal poacher Dusan Vlahovic, Arsenal are looking set to lose their out-of-favour talisman, Aubameyang, to Barcelona on loan.

Dusan Vlahovic transfer saga was a well speculated one around and within the Arsenal community in recent months until the newly-turned 22yrs old player opted for Juventus among quite a number of suitors. Let’s say his new number, 7, played a role in his transfer as he knew his chances of getting the No. 7 shirt from Saka had he chosen Arsenal, would be slim.

The only thing looking like the stumbling block in Auba’s move to Barca is the salary issue. Aside that, Arsenal seems ready to let go of the Gabonese. The once-upon-a-time go-to man for the Gunners has seen himself fall far down the pecking order in recent times. with different stories emerging as to why he has been sidelined for long. Even league debutant Folarin Balogun, was preferred ahead of Auba before his loan to Middlesbrough for the remainder of 2021/22 season.

I won’t be surprised if Auba initiated the Barca link by expressing his desire to leave. If Auba leaves Arsenal, the only experienced front man left in the squad will be Alexander Lacazette, a man that has proven that consistency is now an unaffordable luxury for him.

Even with Auba out-of-form as a number of Arsenal fans have claimed, his presence on the bench or anywhere around the match venue incites tension in the midst of oppositions, due to how lethal he used to and could be.

With Auba totally out of the equation, at least temporarily, will we see an Arsenal team similar to the one we witnessed around the beginning of this season, before the numbers started changing?

A blunt and toothless Arsenal?

Will there be no time when they will need his experience and frightful presence?

Also, who do they turn to when Lacazette is out of it, Nketiah? Martinelli? midfielders? Odegaard as false 9? wingers? For how long?

Let me know what you think about this transfer in the comments section below.

On another thought, Arsenal might just be trying to help out a comrade in need by loaning him to Barcelona. I will like to see a revived Auba though. So if Barca is the answer, then let’s have it.

  1. Arsenal are just a vibe and inshallah team I don’t think they have any target for the season just taking the game as they come. Selling your best striker without replacement will cost them no doubt let’s see how this plays out
